pARALLELOGRAMS wITHOUT tAILS*

she
kept
apples
in
the
barrow
of
her
skirts

a
bird’s
shell
and
a
heel
of
dry
bread

I sit
in the murder
of your thoughts
making kites
and parallelograms
without tails
or string
